Pilates for pregnancy & early postpartum
The Pilates method is adapted for each stage of pregnancy and the early postpartum months. We approach core engagement differently in the third trimester and during the first months after birth, with gentle, evidence-informed modifications that support recovery. MTLPILATES’s unique approach reduces the risk of prolonged diastasis recti and fosters a healthy, balanced relationship between your core and pelvic floor.
Sessions adapt trimester by trimester to maintain stability, support posture under shifting loads, and prepare the body for birth. Postnatally, the full apparatus supports a careful return, rebuilding deep core and pelvic floor tone safely at your own pace.

Prenatal or postnatal, how do you begin?
Both start with a private session so the instructor can tailor the work to your stage, history and any clearance from your care provider. During pregnancy, we strongly recommend private lessons or duos, with small group lessons available upon request.
Contact the studio at info@mtlpilates.ca or book an intro private, and tell us your due date or delivery date and anything your provider has flagged. We will recommend the safest format for you.
