Who founded MTLPILATES?
MTLPILATES was founded in 2017 by Veronique Lefort, a Queen's University graduate, as a contemporary studio taught on the full system as intended in downtown Montreal. She leads instruction across the full apparatus, with a focus on precision, control and individual progression.
What began as a conviction, that the full system, taught as intended across all its apparatus, produces a more balanced, durable and functional practice, has earned a devoted community of practitioners and 192 reviews on Google in downtown Montreal.
What makes the studio unique?
A contemporary studio teaching the authentic Pilates repertoire, adapted to every body. We teach the full apparatus system (Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel and Mat) in small, supervised classes built on hands-on adjustments, precision and individual progression. MTLPILATES is the only studio in Canada offering dedicated Ladder Barrel classes, giving you rare access to a repertoire most studios never teach: deep spinal mobility, hip opening and core strength in a way no other apparatus can match.

What are the benefits of Pilates?
Pilates improves posture by strengthening the deep core and spinal muscles, enhancing alignment and body awareness, increasing flexibility and spinal mobility, reducing neck and back pain and injury risk, and improving balance for everyday tasks. Most clinical programs showing measurable gains run 6 to 12 weeks with 2 to 3 supervised sessions per week.
Are there showers and changing rooms at the studio?
Yes. Changing rooms, lockers and 1 shower are available on the third floor, with washrooms on each floor. Bring your own lock for the lockers. We've got soap—bring your own towel! The amenities are designed so downtown clients can train before work or over a lunch break.
