The apparatus system

The Wunda Chair at MTLPILATES

The Wunda Chair is a compact apparatus with a spring-loaded pedal that demands stability in a small base of support. It builds precise, functional strength for standing, climbing and lifting, and exposes asymmetries the Reformer can hide. It is central to the full apparatus repertoire and central to how we teach.

The method in motion

What does the Wunda Chair do for your body?

The Wunda Chair builds precise, functional strength in a small base of support. Its spring-loaded pedal demands stability the Reformer can hide, so it develops the control you use to stand, climb and lift, and quickly reveals left-right asymmetries.

Where the Reformer offers a long, supportive carriage, the Chair gives you almost nothing to hide behind. That makes it one of the most honest tools in the studio: it shows exactly where control is missing, then builds it.

It is central to the full apparatus repertoire and a favourite for clients who want strength that transfers directly to everyday movement and sport.

Who is the Wunda Chair for?

The Wunda Chair suits clients who want functional strength and better balance, athletes, and anyone ready to test the control they have built on the Reformer. Beginners meet it in the Chair & Barrel Level 1.5 class.

Because it is compact and challenging, the Chair is often introduced once a client has the fundamentals, then used to progress strength and stability over time.

How do you start on the Wunda Chair?

Chair & Barrel runs at Levels 1.5 and 2.5, both open, so you pick the one you want. Level 3.5 opens after a teacher evaluation, the only class here you cannot simply book. Privates are available on any apparatus.

Ready to start? Your first classes are $85.

Three classes plus one free, or three private sessions for $225. Book online in minutes, no sales call.
